Bandwidth costs Hoje toda a gente fala do YouTube e como ele bateu os 100 million videos served per day. A parte mais interessante no entanto é esta... A key question that remains unanswered of course is whether the service will succeed financially. Forbes estimated that bandwidth costs were approaching $1 million per month in April, when YouTube was reported to have been seeing 12.9 million unique visitors per month (March). Three months later that number is reported to be approaching 20 million unique visitors per month. via TechCrunch: YouTube serves 100m videos each day The bandwidth companies typically charge video sites up to a penny per minute of video streamed. Big players who buy in bulk get discounted rates: Industry observers estimate that YouTube, which is streaming 40 million videos and 200 terabytes of data per day, may be paying between a tenth of a cent and half a cent per minute.
