Update: Google announced their Q2 results today after the market had closed. Shares are down by as much as 12% as earnings growth reported was below analysts expectations. Net income for the quarter was $1.25B, up from $925M. The company reported a profit of $4.63 per share, which was slightly below the $4.72 average expectation from Wall Street analysts.
Update: Apple Inc. reported a 31 percent increase in third-quarter profit on sales of its Macintosh personal computer. The shares fell after the company forecast revenue and earnings that missed analysts' estimates.
Update: EMC Corporation EMC, the world leader in information infrastructure solutions, today announced record second-quarter revenue results and its 20th consecutive quarter of double-digit year-over-year revenue growth. The company achieved balanced execution with double-digit revenue growth in systems, software and services and across all of its major business segments and geographies. EMC's total consolidated revenue for the second quarter of 2008 was $3.67 billion, an increase of 18% over the $3.12 billion reported for the second quarter of 2007.
Update:
Amazon.com Inc. just reported that its second quarter profit more than doubled to $158 million, or 37 cents per share. For the same period a year ago, profit was $78 million, or 19 cents per share.
It beat Wall Street's expectations of 26 cents per share.
